Bresse chickens are table birds that give the most delicious meat (and we’ve found they are also fine producers of large tinted eggs). While searching for a meat breed that we could produce on farm, without relying on buying chicks we discovered the Bresse.
We purchased our original birds from Greenfire Farms, and this is how they describe Bresse: “This remarkable table breed is considered a national treasure in its native France. Reputed to be the best-tasting chicken in the world, a roasted Bresse can cost hundreds of dollars at a Parisian restaurant.”
Bresse are patriotic in their coloring, with bright red combs and wattles, white feathers and blue legs. Hens lay over 200 large eggs per year with a tinted shell.

Hello Sarah and Peter,
Just wanted to tell you both how pleased I am with my order of White American Bresse hatching eggs I had received from you. From the stellar packaging with no damages to any of the eggs, to the wonderful instruction link as to what to do when you receive your eggs, down to the actual hatching itself. Of the 6 eggs I had ordered 4 beautiful, healthy chicks emerged :~)
This is the first time I had ordered hatching eggs online and only my second time incubating eggs.
Thank you so much for a wonderful experience.

I ordered a dozen American Bresse hatching eggs. The eggs arrived well packaged. There was only very minor detachment of the air cells, much less than I had expected for shipped eggs. I put them pointy-end down in the incubator for the first 7 days with no turning, and after the first week, all the air cells were stable. All 12 eggs were fertilized. I had 9 make it to lockdown, and I hatched 5 chicks. They are doing very well.

Our hatch went pretty good. We ended up with 7 of 10 hatching. This was my first mail order hatching eggs experience. The chicks that made it out are healthy and super cute. And just in time for Easter. Thank you guys for your commitment to growing! I can’t wait to try these American Bresse out for duel purpose birds.
