We thought we were going to lose her

Ewes chewing their cuds

The ewe in this story is the white one at the front of the photo. The photo was taken the day after the big scare, she was back to calmly chewing her cud with the rest of the flock. Just three days before the first birthday of our ewe Stellaria, Peter came in from refilling […]

About Our Family

Hi, we are Sarah & Peter Milcetic of Better with Thyme Farm! On our farm we focus on working with Creation and the wisdom of God’s design. Stewarding our land and animals for God's glory gives us hope and freedom for the present and eternity.

Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. -John 15:4

We Love Thyme

We love thyme. With seemingly endless varieties of this aromatic, delicious, medicinal, flowering evergreen ground cover we thought it was a perfect namesake for our farm. We especially loved creating a play on words that reflects hope, regeneration and abundance.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. -Romans 15:13

Puppy Testimonials

Ron has been the absolute best blessing we could’ve asked for in a dog. He really has been such a wonderful addition to our family and we thank you so much for raising such an amazing pup in a child friendly house.

― Caitlyn

Most of the photos and videos are of us on adventures. She is a dream come true and I love every second with her.

― Katherine

Apollonia has surpassed any of our expectations.  We love her so much and could not imagine being without her!!! We continue to feed her a raw food diet. She has had zero health issues!

― Niccole

Appa has been perfectly healthy since we’ve had him and I attribute that to the raw diet! We can’t thank you and your family enough for trusting us to take care of him! As well as being an inspiration for a healthier and more wholesome life.

― Zach

We set up a new bull fence today in anticipation of the bulls needing more secure fencing after the girls finish calving and start cycling. 😅 Is anyone in the market for an A2A2 midsize bull? He was born on our farm but currently located in AL and looking for new pastures. Moonbeam is such a good mama! Baby is nursing well on his own and getting more steady on his feet too. Welcome little one! Moonbeam’s calf sired by North Woods Pioneer. 21 inches at birth. I guessed the baby’s gender based on Moonbeam’s poll hairs and it was right again. Watch to the end to find out if it’s a 🩷 or a 💙 and the name we picked. Such fun colors in Breeze’s litter! Each kitten has a unique color. There are two calicos, a tortoise shell, a gray tabby, a ginger tabby and a cream tabby. Moonbeam’s due date is in five days but I think she’s going to calve sooner than that. Can you guess by her poll hairs whether she’s carrying a bull or heifer calf? Day four of micro-scale mob grazing. You can see very clearly where they were vs. where they are headed and the first paddock is already visibly greener than when they left it! Magnolia’s baby is here! Can you help us name him? Starting rotationally grazing for the year with very small paddocks, less than 1/4 acre so the cows can’t be too picky. Basically I’m trying out a micro-scale of mob grazing (with supplemental hay since it’s still early in the growing season). I’m moving the cows daily and each paddock will be able to rest at least a month before the cows return to it. 🐂
